The Adventure Centre One!

I arrived bright and early at Chesterfield registry office for Rachel & Anna’s big day. The weather forecast was a mixed bag and with a very ‘out-doorsy’ wedding celebration ahead of us I was prepared for every eventuality!

As guests arrived and I got down to business the sun shone and clouds shifted about the skies. Rachel arrived in an awesome Karen Millan suit and Irregular Choice shoes which a was a little jealous about to say the least! Tallulah, their daughter accompanied Rachel as they awaited Anna’s arrival.

The wedding car was beautiful and Anna arrived beaming and looking stunning in a dark blue dress. Rachel & Anna walked down the aisle together and after a ceremony of smiles, love and happiness we moved outside into the sunshine for some group shots.

Onwards to Mount Cook Adventure Centre which was hosting Rachel & Anna’s celebrations and the weather took a dramatic turn with a huge hail storm. Arriving at the venue the snow steadily fell as we snapped a few shots of Rachel & Anna arriving in their wedding car. Spirits were far from dampened and guests enjoyed welcome fizz and a pre-activity buffet before checking into there camping pods and donning a change of clothes and assuming an adventurous mindset!

At this point I snook off with Rachel & Anna into a now much heavier snow storm to attempt some couple shots at the popular beauty spot of Black Rocks. Needless to say with Anna in heels and the weather challenging we weren’t going to attempt the climb to the top but we did get some lovely shots along the high peak trail.

Back at the venue activities were in full throw and this was most definitely a first for me at a wedding but such a brilliant idea and truly reflected Rachel & Anna’s personalities. Guests were encouraged to participate in team building exercises and even challenge their physical abilities on the indoor climbing wall. Sadly the weather had ruled out the zip wire but I think Anna was secretly relieved! The whole afternoon was totally unique and lots of fun.

Before long the afternoon had passed and the bar opened. Guests mingled, chatted and relaxed before drifting away to change for the evening celebrations. The room had been beautifully decorated the previous day by Rachel, Anna and their friends. Long tables filled the room and food was served.

A few traditional formalities followed, with speeches, cake cutting (almost verging on a food fight!) and their beautiful first dance.

Evening guests had arrived and the music was provided by a soloist on guitar akin to Newton Faulkner! Then a homemade playlist allowed guests to dance the night away. A slightly impromptu and extremely windy (health & safety nightmare) sparkler shot ended what was a fantastic day all round.

Rachel & Anna what a brilliant, individual wedding! I wish you both a lifetime of love & happiness.

Emma xx
