The Fun in the Sun one!!
You are by no means sure to get sunshine even in August in good old England but Kelly & Darrel certainly picked the right weekend for their marriage celebration - blue skies, happy days!
I arrived at Kelly’s mum’s house mid bridal prep and despite a very early morning start of 6am (it may have been earlier!) everyone was looking wide awake and full of excitement for the day ahead. Hair and make up were in full flow and as the family pets looked on in bemusement everything began to come together and the ceremony drew closer.
With sun cream applied, bacon butties consumed and prosecco drained (sadly not by me!) I left to shoot over and grab a few shots of Darrel with his best man. Both boys were chilled out and ready for action.
Over at Branston golf and country club, Kelly & Darrel’s chosen venue, the sun was high in the sky and the outdoor ceremony area looked stunning. Guests steadily arrived, enjoying drinks in the sun on the terrace.
Kelly arrived in an awesome VW camper, proudly escorted by her Dad. She sneaked into the garden room, avoiding guests and enjoyed another sneaky bottle of Prosecco with her bridal party.
The ceremony was beautiful and Kelly looked radiant as she was escorted down the aisle to darrel by her proud Dad, her dress knocking the odd decoration over as she went which broke the nerves and had everyone laughing!
After the ceremony the guests helped themselves to refreshing glasses of Pimms before we organised some group shots.
A golf buggy was then their mode of transport as we headed down to the lake at the 18th hole for a few couple shots. Afterwards we grabbed the bridal party, groomsmen, camper van and smoke bombs for some fun and games!
Fantastic food and more drinks followed with some heartfelt speeches which brought tears to everyones eyes and also lots of laughs! Soon the evening guests began arriving, the band set up and Kelly & Darrel kicked off the dancing with their first dance, something I know both of them were dreading but they nailed it and soon all their friends and family joined them on the dance floor.
I left them to celebrate into the warm August evening.
Kelly & Darrel I wish you a lifetime of love & laughter.
Thank you for letting me share & capture your day xxx
