The HOT one! 'Claire & Jon'

So when wedding clients say to me "I really hope the sun is shining" for this wedding it came out with a massive hat on and a huge smile!!

Temperatures were already soaring by 10am resulting in a quick costume change for 'moi' in the back of the car to a less black, heat absorbing top! That sorted I ventured off and met up with Claire already in the throws of hair and make-up. Claire and her friends were in good spirits with prosecco flowing, foundation spraying, tunes playing and the air con blasting!!

After grabbing some bridal prep shots I had a wander around the venue and then headed off to find the boys...

Hat's off to the guys, they were cool as cucumbers despite the heat! Button holes pinned and we were ready to head outside for a bit of fun in the sun...

Guests began arriving and were able to have a drink and chat in the grounds of the farmhouse. The ceremony room at Donington Park Farmhouse is a stunning barn with a high ceiling and dimmed lighting, creating an intimate feel.

The time of the ceremony arrived and after a few last minute touches and a quick cool down under the air con Claire was ready to go. Her dress and veil were elegant and beautiful and she looked truly stunning.

The ceremony was filled with smiles and fun which depicts Claire and Jon perfectly!

After the ceremony I 'borrowed' the newly weds for a short period and we had a little wander over to the fields opposite the venue to make the most of the blue skies and wonderful views.

The wedding breakfast followed, served in the 'pigstys' and I stole a quick break and sampled the awesome food!

The speeches were brilliant, very funny. I love this part as you really learn about your wedding couple! I was so engrossed I very nearly forgot I was supposed to be taking the photo's! There was a gorgeous moment where the father of the bride spoke about how amazing Jon was with Claire's children and how much he loved them and what a great role model he was.

It was great to see the outside areas getting so much use as everyone kicked back and relaxed after the meal. The alcohol was flowing (sadly not for me) as everyone chatted while the children (and some adults) were kept entertained on the bouncy castle!

The cake cutting was something else at this wedding, forget the cake knife, these guys went straight in with a sword!! Presented to Jon by Claire's son he wielded it like a true pro before ceremoniously slicing the cake! Awesome!

It was then back to the large barn area for the first dance and disco where everyone really let their hair down and partied hard. To be fair, some of THE best dancing I've seen at a wedding!

Weddings are made special by the people who attend them and this wedding was beautiful because of that...

I bid my farewells to Claire and Jon and headed off home... a magical day!

Wishing you both a lifetime of love and happiness xx
