The City Centre one! 'Sara & Liam'

I have to admit this wedding was a little bit of dream come true for me personally as I LOVE Nottingham!! I have spent a fair amount of time shooting street photography in this vibrant and creative city, so combining that with a wedding and I was in my element!

The unconventional nature of Sara and Liam's wedding was very intriguing and on arriving in Nottingham with the sun shining I couldn't wait to see how the day unfolded.

Before meeting with Sara & Liam I visited The Council House to sneak a peak at the ceremony room of which there are many in this venue. Sara & Liam were getting married in the actual Sheriff of Nottingham's office, a beautiful ornate and intimate room. I've walked past the council house on numerous occasions but on stepping inside I was amazed at the extravagant interior with a grand sweeping staircase directly opposite the entrance, lit by the most incredible and huge dome glass skylight.

I met up with Sara & Liam outside the council building. I loved the break in tradition with Sara & Liam walking to the venue together from a nearby hotel where they had spent the evening. Family and friends gathered as the time for the ceremony drew nearer. Liam wore a fantastic grey suite with a gorgeous detailed silk lining and Sara wore a beautiful deep purple, lacy dress which complemented her red hair.

The ceremony was beautiful and full of emotion. The connection and love between Sara & Liam filled the room.

After the ceremony we stole a few moments to grab some couple shots on the grand staircase whilst guest enjoyed a drinks reception in the Sheriff's office.

On leaving the venue we used the grand facade of the building for a few group shots and then headed across to the market square where the annual Nottingham beach festival was taking place with a beach bar and fairground. It was like the best wedding reception and completely free! Sara, Liam and guests descended on the beach bar and were welcomed and congratulated by all around them! This was all the perfect backdrop for more fun photos...

The wedding party then walked the short distance to Zizzi's for a relaxed meal before heading off around the pubs and nightlife of Nottingham. Despite several attempts at convincing the couple a photographer would be a great addition to any pub crawl they sadly declined and I bid my farewells to this unique couple who really left a mark on me. They kept it real and let their love be the statement.

Sara & Liam it was a blast! Wishing you both a lifetime of love and happiness xx
